ILoveYouYourePerfectNowChangePOSTERcropped NRACT2012 NRACT Presents the Long Running Off Broadway Musical I Love You, Youre Perfect, Now Change

North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre will present a robust rendition of I Love You, You?re Perfect, Now Change, the long-running 1996 Off-Broadway musical about dating and mating with music by Jimmy Roberts and lyrics by Joe DiPietro, on Feb. 3-5, 10-12, and 17-19 in their small black-box theater in the Greystone Village Shopping Center, in north Raleigh, NC.

?The NRACT Board approached me about directing this work in 2011,? recalls guest director Rob Outterson. ?I had not worked on a previous production of it, but some of the cast members had.?

He adds, ?The tunes in this show are catchy. When you have worked with it long enough, you wake up with a different melody in your head every morning.

?What I like best about the scenes in this play is that they cover a wide swath of the relationship gamut,? Outterson says. ?Anyone who has been in a relationship will point to some scene and say, ?Yes! That?s what happened to me!??

Outterson adds, ?I Love You, You?re Perfect, Now Change is a series of unrelated vignettes. Each brings a different slice of the relationship spectrum into focus. Members of the ensemble cast play over five dozen roles, from a stud (D.J. Curtis) and a babe (Jessica Smith) to a woman who learns how to make her date?s favorite meal in a hurry (Jess Barbour) to the single gentleman who wipes out all of his married friends (James Ilsley) to the perpetual bridesmaid (Lisa Kinlaw) to the new daddy that forgets how to talk to adults (Danny Dove) to a husband who doubles as a luggage rack (Jon Todd) to the video dater (Alison LaRue).?

In addition to director Rob Outterson, the North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre creative team for I Love You, You?re Perfect, Now Change includes producer Jay Dolan, musical director Craig Johnson, technical director Todd Houseknecht, set and lighting designer Mia Carson, sound designer John Maruca, and stage manager Jennifer Elmo.

Director Rob Outterson says, ?The set consists of four brightly colored doors set in three walls. Action takes place on the full stage and in front of the curtain?. [The] Lighting consists of general lights for stage left and right, a fixed spot center, and color flourishes. At one point, we create a sort of shadow play on stage?.

?The costumes take us back to the 1980s,? Rob Outterson says, ?complete with leg warmers and shoulder pads. There is even an ultra-tacky bridesmaid?s dress.?

Rob Outterson claims, ?This show requires very athletic performers. They dance tangos; they rant Jerry Springer-style; they run circles around each other. With different roles in each scene, the actors are constantly changing costumes and switching their whole personas over to each new character. The end result is a very lively performance and a little bit of something for everyone.?

He adds, ?Although NRACT typically presents works for the whole family, I Love You, You?re Perfect, Now Change has subject matter that is better suited to an adult audience. At times, it will have you doubled over with laughter or welling up with tears. Whether you are currently in a relationship or not, you will thoroughly enjoy this performance!?

North Raleigh Arts and Creative Theatre presents I LOVE YOU, YOU?RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE at 8 p.m. Feb. 3 and 4, 3 p.m. Feb. 5, 8 p.m. Feb. 10 and 11, 3 p.m. Feb. 12, 8 p.m. Feb. 17 and 18, and 3 p.m. Feb. 19 at NRACT, in the Greystone Village Shopping Center, 7713-51 Lead Mine Rd., Raleigh, North Carolina 27615.

Klaus Kroell wins World Cup downhill at Chamonix

(AP) ? Klaus Kroell gave Austria its first World Cup downhill victory of the season Friday, edging Bode Miller by 0.01 seconds in a race so tight the top five skiers were separated by only 0.08 seconds.

Miller was faster than Kroell at every split, but the American lost time on the bottom section and finished an eye blink behind Kroell, who won in 2 minutes, 4.22 seconds.

After Miller crossed the line, he spun quickly to check the big screen to see how he did. He held his head in his hands in disbelief and stood still for a few seconds.

"It's tough. ... There's so many places where a hundredth can come or go," Miller said. "I didn't really have a great reach for the finish line, which I always try to do well. That's the worst place to lose it, right out of the start or right at the finish line, and today I kind of left a little bit out there."

This was Kroell's fourth World Cup victory and his first since he won the downhill at Wengen, Switzerland, in January last year.

"Having waited so long it's a great joy, and a great relief. A great weight has been lifted from me," Kroell said. "It was a very difficult race for me because I made a mistake right at the start, and then on a turn. So it was a bad start."

Under overcast skies and with light snow falling on the La Verte des Houches course, 37-year-old Didier Cuche of Switzerland finished third in his bid for a third straight downhill victory. He was 0.03 seconds behind Miller in 2:04.26. Romed Baumann of Austria and Erik Guay of Canada shared fourth place.

"Because everyone's so close together with the ability, and the courses seem to be easier ? they're slower ? there's less things that separate the field," Miller said. "A lot of these races are unbelievable close. That's a challenge in itself to really make sure that you stay focused and pay attention to the things that matter."

Miller almost captured his second downhill win of the season after his aggressive run down the Birds of Prey course at Beaver Creek, Colo., two months ago when he finished ahead of Beat Feuz and Kroell.

"It didn't really feel exactly like my skis were running that well," Miller said. "I knew I got away with a lot of stuff at the top so I knew I'd be fast up there, but once I was on that bottom flat I kind of felt like I was losing."

"It was really wet, kind of weird snow," he added. "And when you hit that stuff ... they (the skis) go all over the place. It's kind of hard to tell what they're doing."

Hannes Reichelt had the previous best downhill performance by an Austrian this season ? second on the Lauberhorn course in Wengen last month. Kroell, meanwhile, has had three third-place finishes.

Cuche, who is set to retire this year, won in Chamonix last year and was very close to adding another win to his glittering collection in his final season. He won downhills in Kitzbuehel, Austria, and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, last month.

The race was rescheduled from Val Gardena, Italy, the first classic downhill of the season. It had been called off in December because of strong wind.

Chamonix hosts its regular downhill Saturday, followed by a super combined on Sunday.

Refinance a USDA Loan with No Appraisal ... - Real Estate Marbles

Posted on February 1st, 2012 by Donald LaPlume

USDA loans have been the darling of The First Time Home Buyer market over the past few years. They have been perfect for first time home buyers who income and credit qualify because they allow a buyer to purchase a home with no down payment even if they were never in the military.

That said, because they were 100% financing loans anyone who purchase with a USDA loan in the past 5 years or more is probably underwater with the drop in property values. Since USDA loans do not fall under HARP many people have been told they are stuck in the higher rates they had from when they purchased their home.

This is a myth! If you have a USDA loan and are in good standing you can refinance that loan and get rates these days in the high 3s to low 4s, if your credit and income are still fine. Please know, you must qualify and be able to pay the loan back under today?s government underwriting standards but you do not usually have to be concerned with the appraised value of your home. Another key rule is that you will not be allowed to do the refinance unless you are going to drop by at least 1 percentage point in rate. Example would be if you have a 5% rate today you must qualify to receive a 4% or lower rate to get the mortgage.

USDA just like VA and FHA agree that they are better off ?helping you to get a lower rate on your government?guaranteed?mortgage. This is because if your payment can drop you are more likely to be able to stay finacially?healthy. Stay above water yourself and not default on the debt they are?guaranteeing.

Key to note here is that if you do not have any equity in your home you will not be able to take cash out of your home but that makes sense. No equity no cash. That is not such a bad thing if you are saving an extra $100.00 or more per month on your home!

Wishing you all the best,

Don LaPlume

Chinese workers kidnapped in Egypt freed (Reuters)

BEIJING (Reuters) ? Twenty-five Chinese kidnapped in Egypt were freed on Wednesday, a day after they were taken hostage by Bedouin tribesmen, Chinese and Egyptian media reported.

It was the second kidnapping in days that has sparked worry about Chinese workers in dangerous places.

China had earlier said it was "shocked" by the other abduction, of 29 Chinese workers by rebels in the Sudanese border state of South Kordofan, highlighting growing fears associated with China's expanding global reach.

The 25 workers freed in Egypt were in good condition, Xinhua news agency said, citing an embassy official there, Ma Jianchun. Egypt's official Middle East News Agency confirmed their release after top security and army officials held talks with captors.

Bedouin tribesmen kidnapped 24 Chinese cement factory workers and a translator in Egypt's Sinai region on Tuesday and held them for 15 hours, according to Xinhua.

The kidnappings in Sudan and Egypt dramatize China's difficulties as it ventures into risky areas, generally shunned by Western companies, in search of resources and business.

China's ambassador to Egypt, Song Aiguo, had contacted Egyptian interior and defense officials on Tuesday, urging them to secure the release of the workers, Xinhua said.

The kidnappers were demanding that authorities free fellow tribesmen from prison, according to tribal sources.

Residents of Sinai say they are neglected by the central government in Cairo and have attacked police stations and blocked access to towns, villages and industrial sites to show their discontent.

The isolated desert region has descended further into lawlessness since an uprising ousted President Hosni Mubarak a year ago and threw the security apparatus into disarray.

In Sudan, a team of officials China sent to seek the release of the 29 workers arrived in the capital, Khartoum, on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the rebels holding the workers since Saturday said they were in good condition.

Arnu Ngutulu Lodi of the rebel Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North told Reuters rebel officials had met Chinese diplomats in neighboring Ethiopia to assure them the workers were in good health. But he gave no indication of when they would be freed.

The SPLM-N also asked China to pressure Sudan to open humanitarian corridors to supply the rebel-held South Kordofan and Blue Nile areas with food and emergency aid, though that was not a release condition.

It is the third abduction of Chinese working in energy-rich Sudan since 2004.

Mark Po, an analyst at UOB Kay Hian in Hong Kong, said the kidnappings were not likely to deter China from working in trouble spots.

"Chinese companies occupy a pretty big portion of infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges and communications, in third world countries, and this trend will continue," he said.

Many turning points for Giants, Patriots

(AP) ? The Jets, of all teams, could forever hold a special place in the hearts of the New York Giants and New England Patriots.

Beating Rex Ryan's ornery bunch proved to be a key turning point in an otherwise up-and-down season for the two Super Bowl teams.

Since coach Bill Belichick's squad routed the Jets in the Meadowlands in mid-November, the Patriots haven't lost. And since a Christmas Eve victory over their stadium co-tenants, the Giants haven't, either.

Although neither side will call those wins singularly pivotal, they clearly were the benchmarks for when things started to get a whole lot better.

"I don't think you can point to one thing," Giants cornerback Corey Webster said, "but I do know when you develop good chemistry, when you don't have anyone pointing fingers, it does not matter what happened the week before. We reached that point, we kept fighting and fighting to win on the field, and we are here today."

By "here," he means Lucas Oil Stadium, a place the Giants (12-7) couldn't see for all the losses they experienced after starting 6-2. They dropped four in a row ? three to eventual division winners ? and were 7-7 before that "road" game against the local rival Jets.

By then, the Giants knew each week brought an elimination game. They've won all of those to reach their second Super Bowl in four years, against the team whose unbeaten season they wrecked in the 2008 title game.

"When we came out of the Dallas game, I thought that would be it," Giants owner John Mara said, referring to a 37-34 victory that broke the slide. "Then we come out so flat " against Washington, he said. "So that wasn't it."

The Giants manhandled the Jets with a fierce defense. That victory coincided with important players such as DE Justin Tuck and LB Michael Boley getting healthy enough to play up to their usual high standards. Defensive end Osi Umenyiora also was close to returning from an ankle injury.

"We came together against the Jets and we started playing very well as a defense," Umenyiora said, "but definitely health had something to do with that. Obviously, we had a lot of guys who are key components who missed a lot of games. The minute we were able to get everyone together, we all took off."

Health also was a major factor for the Patriots (15-3), who took off following a home loss to the Giants. They went to the Meadowlands and routed the Jets in a much-hyped game ? just as the "Battle of New York" would be ballyhooed later ? and kept right on going, straight to Indy and their fifth Super Bowl with coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady.

New England took particular joy in that victory, but found even more satisfaction in piling up the wins while undermanned.

"Not sure there's a turning point as far as one game or anything," linebacker Jerod Mayo said. "I think that it's just having the same group of guys out there as the past couple of weeks. We're finally coming together and getting guys healthy."

Still, there must be a hallmark moment. A Brady touchdown pass, perhaps. A Rob Gronkowski catch-and-plow-over-a-defender score.

Nope.

Not even Sterling Moore's stripping of the ball from Baltimore receiver Lee Evans in the end zone, a play that, if completed, would have lifted the Ravens into the Super Bowl.

"I don't think about it," Moore said when asked about a turning point. "I think there's a lot of plays that helped us get here. (Brandon) Spikes' interception and the way Vince (Wilfork) played that game; I'm just glad I had an opportunity to make a play."

So, for all the spectacular plays, crucial wins and memorable moments in their seasons, nothing truly qualified as a trendsetter?

"That's not the way a season goes," Giants left guard Kevin Boothe said. "There's lots of twists and turns, sure, but even with the streak of losses we had, we still had all our goals in front of us. That's all you can really ask for."

At least the teams don't cite fate or destiny for getting into the Super Bowl. They might not offer simple reasons, but at least what they mention as catalysts toward Giants-Patriots II aren't providential.

"The one thing about the group is that there are a lot of guys who came from free agency or a lot of guys who were cut and had a lot to prove," said Patriots linebacker Rob Ninkovich, who has been both. "I think when you go through that route of getting cut, not having a roster spot, wanted to only be a special teams guy and trying to break into the roster on that aspect, it's kind of tough. Coming here, it's really been a blessing for a lot of guys. You take every moment and every opportunity you have and you make the best of it."
